Material selection

Paper-based options for your packaging brief

Start with the product's protection and presentation needs. Review the complete construction, including inserts, coatings, adhesives and finishes, before choosing a material.

Rigid gift boxes, folding cartons, mailer boxes and paper bags offer different structures for presentation and shipping.

Confirm board grade, insert fit and any surface treatment for your application.

Paper tubes & cylinders

Paper tube packaging provides a cylindrical format for product presentation. Diameter, height, closure and decoration are selected around the product.

A paper-based format alone does not establish recyclability or a certified product claim.

Molded fiber

Molded pulp, shaped around your product

Molded pulp packaging is made by forming a fiber pulp mixture in a mold to create a shaped tray or insert.

HC Packaging offers molded pulp, bagasse and bamboo-fiber packaging options, including protective inserts and trays. The Vietnam Affiliated Molded Pulp Factory forms part of our manufacturing network.

  • Share the product dimensions and required cavity layout.
  • Review support points, removal access and fit with the outer box.
  • Confirm fiber composition, finish and application requirements on the quotation and sample.

Manufacturing practices

Materials, process controls and documentation

HC Packaging supports responsible material selection through supplier control, material traceability, internal quality control and compliance documentation.

Manufacturing capabilities include offset printing, die-cutting, hot stamping and folder-gluing. Process and finish selection depend on the packaging specification and production site.

Renewable-energy initiatives include rooftop solar energy at applicable production facilities. Material optimization and energy-efficiency improvements form part of our work to reduce manufacturing impact.

Responsible sourcing

Certification scope matters

A factory management system, a material sourcing option and a finished-product claim serve different purposes. Confirm the applicable holder, site, product group and order documentation.

Material & order level

FSC sourcing options

FSC-certified paper options are available within the applicable Chain of Custody scope. An order is FSC covered only when its sales or shipping documents include the corresponding FSC claim.
