Cold Foil Packaging: Review the Metallic Areas with the Printed Artwork

Cold-foil packaging decoration should be planned with the printed artwork and proposed substrate. Identify the metallic areas first, then review their appearance and position on the complete sample.

Define the decorative role

Choose whether the metallic area acts as a brand mark, pattern or broader visual element. Keep those areas identifiable in the artwork brief. The patterned gift-box examples are visual references, with the proposed process and materials confirmed separately.

Coordinate the printed design

Compare the metallic areas with the surrounding print, panel boundaries and opening edges. Discuss the proposed cold-transfer method with the production team. Use the sample to confirm the chosen combination rather than assuming a fixed effect from the process name.

Record the approved finish

Review the assembled panels at different angles and at normal viewing distance. Keep the sample reference, decorative artwork and written specification together. Confirm any required handling evaluation for the actual finish and construction.
