PACKAGING GUIDES

Electronic Product Boxes: Plan the Device, Accessories and Instructions

An electronic product box should be planned around the complete kit. List the device, accessories and printed information, then review their positions and removal order before approving the outer artwork.

Start with the finished kit

Measure the device in the configuration that will be packed. Include cables, attachments, manuals and any inner wrapping. Separate parts that need their own spaces and identify which information the recipient should see on opening.

Review removal and return access

Try taking out the device and each accessory from the fitted sample. Check clearances around protruding parts and the grip available to the user. Confirm the proposed support construction in the written specification rather than inferring it from a photograph.

Separate presentation from performance

Review the artwork and labeling positions on the assembled box. Define any handling or transit requirement using the actual kit and an agreed evaluation method. A neat display arrangement alone does not establish a protection rating.
